I have been viewing Asya’s work for a year or so now and never stop being moved by it, she takes self portraits, there is not really much I will say about it, they are unique and people interpret them in their own way. Her http://www.myownself.com/ site does not unfortunately change much, I wish there were more new work added.
DP Review has a interview with her that gives insight into how and why she makes these photos.
I’m an ambidextrous, color-blind math grad student, 22. I have two master degrees and I’m two years away from my Ph.D. in Bioinformatics. From time to time I want to ditch my college and do photography but I’m afraid I appear to be a coward and of course such attitude doesn’t lead to anything except mediocrity, to be generous.
