iTunes for Windows

Apple today released iTunes for Windows and new iPod firmware. The firmware introduces a whole lot of new features that was not previously available:

  • AAC File Support
  • Support for their new accessories like voice recording and photo storage
  • Better on-the-go play lists
  • Better playback performance including a equalizer of sorts
  • Games
  • Improved Back light and Battery meter

So far I like the new bits in the iPod but I have to explore them some more, as for iTunes it will finally give windows users access to the previously Mac only features such as the Music Store, Smart Playlists, ratings, play count and last played.

This is truly great news for iPod for Windows owners as the previous Musicmatch plugin was really not optimal.
